Edwardian Style Pendant Pearl Pendant Brooch

This exquisite ‘Stomacher’ style brooch with freshwater pearls and marcasite, is evocative of the jewels which originated as early as the 18th Century, and was worn on the bodice of a dress underneath the ‘decolletage’, even extending down below the waistline. The ‘corsage brooch’ was still popular into the Edwardian period. This piece may also be worn as a pendant, or a hair ornament.
